The themes of the G7: “Wars”
The main topic that the big 7 will address (actually 8 with the European Commission) was supposed to be called "Peace", not "Wars", and this demonstrates the clear intentions of the G7 to support wars and rearmament. In fact, Pope Francis was also invited to the summit, but not to talk about wars or migrations, very current and heartfelt topics for the Pope, but he will only be present in the session on Artificial Intelligence (??).
And the latest statements by Jens Stoltenberg (general secretary of NATO) prepare the Third World War: soldiers, compulsory conscription, a European army are needed to fight the new wars: helicopters and tanks have proved unsuccessful in the latest wars in Ukraine and Gaza: soldiers are needed to be sacrificed in the name of defending Western democracy. Armies of men. The new military strategy derives from the flop of the American M1 Abrams tanks and the German Leopards supplied to Ukraine, costing several million euros and shot down by Russian drones costing a few thousand euros: drones, the new weapons without military board, they are called (from the G7 Foreign document) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). Let's prepare for World War III. “We have to get used to war,” Stoltenberg said. Meanwhile, the 2022 Draghi decree brought military spending to 2% of GDP, as requested by NATO and the defense industries achieved record results, such as Leonardo, a state-owned company, which recorded orders above forecasts at 17.9 billion euros (+3.8%) and revenues amounting to 15.3 billion (+3.9% compared to 2022),
The important role of "Made in Italy" weapons in Gaza has been highlighted in recent days by Lieutenant Colonel Steven, officer of the third fleet of the Israeli Navy, who declared to the specialized website Israel Defense that the missiles that are hitting the Strip also come from cannons manufactured in Italy and sold in Tel Aviv. Specifically, we are talking about the 76mm cannons, «produced by the Italian company OTO Melara», a company controlled by Leonardo. A figure also cited by the Observatory on weapons in European and Mediterranean ports The Weapon Watch.
And it is distressing to leaf through the official documents released so far by the inter-ministerial G7 which you can find on the official website g7italy.it: at the G7 Foreign Affairs in Capri the situation in the Middle East was discussed, with Iran as the main problem, then Hamas, the Red Sea, Yemen and Syria. And full solidarity with Israel: between the lines it is recommended that Israel respect international law in the war against Gaza, not to exaggerate, underlining several times its full right to defend itself after the Hamas attack on 7 October. Then full support is declared for Ukraine against Russian aggression, for "Global Governance" of the world, of China and Taiwan, and of all scenarios of possible new wars, such as Libya, the Horn of Africa, Sudan, Congo .
But the height of war hypocrisy can be read in the "Statement of G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group", for arms control, disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation: as always we start from Iran, public enemy number 1, cited 19 times in the document, Russia is mentioned 37 times and think about it, Israel and its incursions against the civilian population of Gaza are never mentioned, zero times, but there is concern about the danger of nuclear weapons that Iran and Russia could use.
The masterpiece of hypocrisy and warlike wickedness occurs in the last chapter of the 13 pages of the document, entitled “Education and outreach”: “The G7 stresses the need to implement long-term solutions to ensure that knowledge in the field of non-proliferation, arms control and disarmament does not get lost and that the next generation of experts is well trained and provided with career opportunities.” (final page 13).
The G7 must ensure that the next generation (students) are well trained and provided with the necessary career opportunities in the armed forces. The militarization of schools is a target, an objective of the G7 states. We should therefore not be surprised by the growing presence of soldiers from every corps who give lessons in schools of all levels. Yet the introduction of civic education in schools should teach Peace, according to the art. 11 of the Constitution, but peace today is misunderstood with the right to defend oneself, naturally with weapons.
For the G7 in June between Brindisi and Borgo Egnazia, 5000 agents (assistance personnel) are expected, of which 2500 from the police, the other part from the other public order forces. They will be hosted on a cruise ship in the port of Brindisi, with shuttles of around fifty buses that will take them daily, depending on the shifts, to Borgo Egnazia, which is 70 km from Brindisi. The city of Brindisi will be armored for the inaugural dinner on June 13th at the Castello Svevo, in the center of the city, and the entire area of the outport and port will be occupied and armored: ferry traffic to Greece and Albania and goods traffic. And, furthermore, the only airport in Salento, which serves tourist arrivals for the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto, will be blocked from flights. In the meantime, for the occasion, the police commissioner of Brindisi and the Prefect have been changed. The aircraft carrier Trieste will monitor the sea in front of the port. Other than a "development opportunity", the G7 in mid-June, the high tourist season, will be a loss for all activities in the area, with the exception of a few ultra-luxury structures involved. Journalists will also be in Bari with the official press headquarters in the pavilions of the Bari Fair.
We remember that the Swabian Castle of Brindisi is the headquarters of the Navy with the San Marco Battalion, a strategic point in cases of conflict, as is the naval base of nearby Taranto and the Amendola air force base near Foggia, where we demonstrated with the Peace March on Last April 14th.
We NoG7 Puglia Coordination will be in the streets of Brindisi on June 13th against these 7 Great murderers and warmongers. “The G7 representatives in Brindisi are not welcome guests”.
