The "NO G7 Coordination Table" invites associations, movements, citizens, on Tuesday 28 May at 6.00 pm to participate in a meeting at the WWF headquarters in the bastion of via De Carpentieri (next to Porta Mesagne) to discuss the choices that they impact our city like the deployment of the new "Trieste" aircraft carrier to Brindisi.

A militarization of the territory that the citizens of Brindisi will taste in advance with the inconveniences they will suffer when the G7 come for dinner on June 13th at the Castello Svevo in Brindisi.

The decisions that the G7 countries have decided over the years are already before our eyes; decisions that are leading us to the third world war, we would like to bring them to the attention of public opinion on Friday 31 May at 6.00 pm in front of the Port Authority which has already granted him 500 meters of quayside.

The choice of the place where to place the new aircraft carrier, however, is certainly not random.

In a city that has fallen into a serious industrial crisis, with the expectation of losing thousands of jobs, new forms of employment such as the military are making room in light of the return to compulsory military service.

The costs of rearmament and a much larger army will wipe out healthcare, education, social services and increasingly meager funds for municipalities, provinces and regions.

Together with the new investments that confirm the choice to resort to fossil fuels for many more years, such as the Edison LNG and Brundisium depot which wants to build a petrol and diesel depot next to it.

In short, a militarized port combined with the fact that the port becomes a service station.

This is the development model they are proposing to us.
